Born in Alaska, Greg moved to San Antonio, Texas with his family at the age of three. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received a B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on water resources. After graduation, he began his career working with the City of Austin as a hydrologist, where he spent the next 20 years. During this time he co-authored the City of Austin Drainage Criteria Manual, started the Regional Stormwater Management Program, and contributed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for several projects. Later, while working as a contract engineer for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Greg was working in Mississippi after Hurricane (Katrina?). He moved to Arizona two years ago and soon after was hired into his current position. As the City Drainage Engineer and Environmental Coordinator, Greg is responsible for the drainage-related public items, as well as ensuring Prescott's compliance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System as a Phase II MS4 community under EPA's Clean Water Act. During his time with the City, Greg has secured funding from the Yavapai County Flood Control District to update Prescott's FEMA floodplain maps which were originally drafted in the late 1970's and early 1980's. He is also developing a Stormwater Management Program for the City. In his free time, Greg enjoys dabbling in art, playing basketball and tennis, as well as jogging. He has four children, three of whom live in Texas, one in Arizona.
